Hi, I'm Jerry Lebens.
Based in Brighton and Lewes, I'm a photography teacher and writer and have been a professional photographer for over thirty years.
My work has featured in Black + White Photography Magazine, Outdoor Photography, Digital Photography, Professional Photographer, Digital Photography Enthusiast as well as on TV and even radio(!).
The nice people at Harman Technology invited me to become an Ilford Master Printer in 2005. Since then, I've run many courses and workshops, on both digital and film based printing, on their behalf. In 2011I spent an exhausting week working on the Harman/Ilford stand at "Focus on Imaging" at the NEC. I'm also a Permajet Ambassador.
I'm a fully qualified and experienced teacher. I spent ten years working as a Design Technology teacher in a highly acclaimed school for the deaf, but nowadays I run courses and provide individual tuition in all aspects of photography. With my background in Special Needs, I've gained a reputation for being able to explain technical ideas very simply and I'm happy to help anyone who's having problems with their photography; nobody is 'too inexperienced' to do my absolute beginners course!
